I was awake. I sat straight up in bed, and gasped, It was only a dream. A terrible nightmare, but still a dream. My heartbeat quickened and I stared with fear as my mother came into the room again, saying: "Kyla, you need to help them!" So it was still a dream, I thought. I cautiously started towards the living room. As I approached, the demonic creature stared blankly at the wall. When I was about five feet away, It whipped around. This time, it looked different, but I wasn't sure how. It rushed towards me with inhuman speed, and I gasped. As it lifted me into the air by the neck, I understood. It took the form of it's victims, but inhuman and distorted. It was me! It stared at me unwavering as I processed this. "Mortal, you are a fool to enter my realm!" And I died. Again.
This time, when I woke up, I slowly got up as my mom rushed in again. "Kyla-" "I know, I know, I need to help whoever it is. Yeah, I got it." Wait, if this is a dream, can't I do anything I want? Then I remembered, oh wait, doesn't my subconscious control my dreams? Well then why can I talk to myself? And the demon spoke to me! I was very confused. As I shuffled begrudgingly downstairs, I quietly gasped. The living room didn't look like a living room anymore. It was a cave! It was bejeweled and very sparkly. Many stalactites and stalagmites were rising from the ground and protruding from the ceiling. I was sure that one was going to fall on me, but I held my ground.
There was a throne carved from stones and precious gems. The same deathly creature was sitting imposingly upon it, glaring intently. He had a crown and cloak red and black, with a magical aura around it. That was probably because he was the magical king of something. He didn't look like me anymore, but the same undead face from the first dream. His bloodshot eyes unblinking. I spoke: "Who are you? What are you doing in my dreams?" He replied, "I am King Thornsoul, the king of demons. You are here because you have entered my realm, mortal. Don't you understand? The barrier between my world and yours is broken on this night, and you must have slipped through one of the cracks."
He laughed. "Now you must die for the last time!" And I knew then that this wasn't a dream anymore. A sword appeared in midair and he grabbed it. This is it. I'm gonna die here. A part of me thought. No! I won't die like this! He lunged, and I dodged behind a stone pillar. He laughed maniacally, and taunted, "Not that easy to kill, are you?" I found a dagger amongst the treasure. Aha! As he slowly walked around the pillar, I hurried back around behind him. "You should be more careful with your weapons," I smiled as he turned around. "They might fall into the unwitting hands of your victims." I stabbed him and he gave an unearthly scream, making the hairs on my neck stand up. I still held on tight to the weapon, and his body shriveled as he uttered his last words: "You haven't seen the last of me!" He turned to dust and I collapsed. I tried to catch my breath as I felt rumbling all around me. The walls were closing in on me! I couldn't breathe, and there were lights popping all around the edges of my vision...
I gasped, sitting up abruptly. I'm not dead, am I? I thought. I checked my bedroom. It was light outside, and my mom was calling me for breakfast. "Alexa, time." I said, sliding out of my bed. "It is 10:30 A.M." My Echo Dot said. I hurried downstairs, and there was not a rock in sight. I sighed in relief. The dream was over. My mom came into the living room. "Kyla, get some breakfast, we're going out as a family today." I smiled, relieved that the nightmare was over.

THE END
I really liked how you repeated the same thing over and over again but made it change, and that really built up the suspense in your story. One thing that you could probably improve on for next time, is repeated the scenario in your story, again or a couple of times.
