One Halloween Night
Tap. Tap. Tap. The sound came from inside the closet. Quietly, I crept toward the
door, I was stuck at home all by myself. It was Halloween night, but Mom had said that
I was too old for trick or treating. That morning I had been so excited for Halloween
and to get a lot of candy, but everything changed when my mom came home and told me
she was going out with some friends and I had to stay home to hand out the candy. She
said I was to old for trick or treating anyways. I was really disappointed. “All of my friends
would be out having fun,” I thought. So when my mom left that night I slumped onto the
chair and turned on the TV. Then, came the knocks, Knock, knock, knock, knock so many knocks by 10:00 I was exhausted so I laid back in the chair turned on the TV and decided not to answer the door any more.

By 10:25 I was almost asleep when I heard a noise in my moms room “it was only 10:30 though
she couldn’t be home yet I thought”. So I silently crept into her room to find that the noise was
coming from the closet. Tap. Tap. Tap. I crept toward the closet door scared out of my mind I ran
out of the room, but while I was running I felt something barely miss my ankle. It was like something
was trying to snatch it. I looked back and the closet was wide open, but nothing was in it. I ran and
tried to open the door, it was locked! I knew I was doomed I had to get out of here. All the sudden the
windows slammed open and a huge gust of wind swooped in and blew me over. Laying there I saw
something crawl back behind my moms bed. It looked big it looked scary it looked deadly! I got up and
ran to the door I kicked it as hard as I can and it busted open. I ran out to find my mom standing there.

“Finally,” I said as I ran to her and squeezed  her so tight. I told her that something was in her room
and it was big and scary. She did not answer. “Mom” I said, “Mom” I said again. Suddenly my mom
grabbed me and through me into her room and said “ Goodnight sweet dreams don’t let the monster
bite, hahahahahahahahahaha.” I screamed as loud as I could “Don’t do this to me mom” I screamed.
Then all was silent except for the footsteps walking across the carpet. I huddled up in the corner
knowing this was the end. Then, I realized my mom had a back door behind the chair “How foolish
of me not to think of that earlier,” I thought. I rushed to the back door struggling to open it  I leapt
outside, its hand inches away from me. It ran out and to my surprise disintegrated right in front of my
eyes. I can still remember that Halloween night. So every Halloween night I always make sure I stay
out past midnight. Also, remember never ever stay home and give out the candy!
