"Ugh. I think I ate too much Halloween candy" I said as I walked back down the road. I had chosen to go really far from my house for trick or treating this year, and now I was really starting to regret it. It was still a 2 mile walk back to my house, and I knew it wasn't going to be easy with a stomach full of candy. Me and my four friends had just gotten about 15 bags of candy, because we each brought two costumes and had hit the same streets twice in a row. We had each eaten half a big bag of our candy, and divided the rest up between us. So there we were lugging 13 bags of candy back down the road, when one of my friends started saying that he smelled something.
"Man, it smells like someone really likes roasted chicken" he said. We all started sniffing and realized the same thing. Then we decided to follow the smell, and so we walked down the road, sniffing, and changing directions until we came to an old chicken nugget processing factory. It looked old and abandoned except for a few glowing statues of chickens in the front. "We should go in" I said to everyone, because who doesn't like chickens? So we kept walking up the winding path to the front door. We rang the doorbell and waited, while a faint song, that was apparently called "Night of the Living Chickens," played up above. We waited for a few minutes when suddenly the sky started to glow. "Oh no!" said one of my friends, "I was supposed to be back by 11:00, and it already morning!" But I didn't think it was morning because it looked like the sky was moving, like the chicken statues. "I'm gonna head back" my friend said. We watched as he walked away, but suddenly he was gone! And all we heard was a faint "cock-a-doodle-do!" we all started panicking, but suddenly the giant doors to the factory slammed open. "Should we go in?" I suggested. They all agreed and we slowly walked in, nervous chills running down our spines.
Once we were a few feet inside, we expected the doors to close behind us, but instead they melted away, leaving a pool of metal behind. All we could could see was the shimmer of white hot metal against the blinding sky. We all walked in further, because we couldn't get over the hot metal, and decided to look for our missing friend. We set down our candy on some elaborate looking tables, so we could search easier. But as soon as we did so, a tornado of chicken feathers engulfed our candy, and swirled around them. "Run!" we all yelled to each other, but the feathers surrounded us and blocked the doorway. Suddenly we felt our feet being lifted above the ground and rising. We were all screaming and trying to move away, but we were suspended in the air, and couldn't move. Suddenly, the three of us all dropped back to the ground with a thud. We all sat up and looked around, but all we could see was our pile of candy, but it had doubled in size! It sat there for a few seconds, but then started to ripple and move. We started backing away but accidentally backed into a corner. The pile stated to rise and some of the candy fell away, revealing a giant chicken made of candy. "It's a dream come true!" I said. But now was not the time to enjoy it, because it started stomping towards us, it's giant candy feet shaking the ground. "We've got to get out of here!" One of my friends yelled. We all got up, and ran around the gargantuan chicken to the doorway.
We kept on running until we came to a hallway with about a billion doorways. We slipped inside one, and started to catch our breath. We stayed inside until we heard the stomping of the candy-chicken fade away. "I think the coast is clear" said one of my friends. We started walking towards the door, and we heard another faint "cock-a-doodle-do" and the next second another one of my friends was gone. "Not again!" I said, now it was just me and my last friend. We went to the doorway and slowly creaked it open. My friend slowly stepped outside, and as soon as his foot touched the ground, every door down the hall opened. Out of every door stepped a white and black chicken. They marched out, turned our direction, and walked forward. We tried to get back into the doorway, but it had disappeared, leaving another black and white chicken in its place. we backed down the hall to the place we had come in, but at that second, the chickens charged. They stampeded down the hallway, white and black feathers everywhere. All we could hear was, "BOCK! BOCK! BOCK! BOCK! BOCK!" as we ran down the hallway but were surrounded on all sides by rampaging chickens. We were carried down the stairs in the sea of chickens and dumped in the entry-way. The chickens suddenly turned, and sped up the stairs again. We sat there for a moment, confused at what had just happened. "That is definitely going on my list of the weirdest things that have ever happened to me" my friend said. But I didn't have any time to respond, because suddenly the candy-chicken was back.
It marched into the entry-way, and let out a thundering, "BOCK! BOCK!" I probably would have ran at that moment, but I realized that the candy-chicken had an egg carton on it's back, and in the carton were my other two friends. I wanted them back, so I ran at the candy-chicken, and charged around to the back of it. I grabbed hold of the egg carton, and pulled it off the back of the chicken, and my two other friends leaped out and landed on an old couch in the corner. I then grabbed an old rope from off the ground, and got onto the chicken. The chicken bucked, and reared, but I held tight to it, and made reigns for it, out of the rope. My other friends got on too, and we rode the candy-chicken home, that night. We got home and divided out the candy from the chicken. We then said goodbye, and left to our houses. That is one crazy awesome Halloween I will never forget!
That was a really great story! You explained it very good but there were some errors like on paragraph two," I was supposed to be back at 11:00 and IT already morning" instead of it's. Other than that you did a good job!
ReplyDeleteThat was a funny and suspenseful story. I like how you did "Night of the Living Chickens." I don't really know if I would change anything. Keep up the good writing!
