Tap. Tap. Tap. Scratch
Tap. Tap. Tap. The sound came from inside the closet. Quietly, I crept toward the door, looked into the dark closet, and didn’t see or hear anything. What? I could have sworn I heard something! I was stuck at home all by myself. It was Halloween night, but mom had said that I was too old for trick-or-treating. She also didn’t want me to go trick-or-treating because I got in trouble earlier. I still wanted to go, but my mom made me stay home. I mean like who doesn’t want free candy?! My mom was gone with my dad at an awesome Halloween party, and I was stuck at home! I couldn’t have any friends over because I got in trouble the day before for eating the cake my mom was going to take to the party. I know, I’m sorry. I just couldn’t resist! It was a tower of delicious, rich, choco---- tap. Tap. Tap.
There it was again!!! I started to walk over and I heard a scratch on the wall behind me. I turned around to find three scratches on the wall. Maybe it was Whiskers(my cat)? No. My parents took her to the party! I couldn’t call my parents because I dropped my phone in the toil- uhh..nevermind. Well anyways, we don’t have a home phone or ANYTHING! What was I going to do? I ran towards the front door to go to my neighbors house to try to find someone to let me in to make a call. I checked everyone's house all down the block. No one answered at any of the doors. I heard something following me, but every time I looked back there was nothing there. I started sprinting farther and farther away from all of the houses. Since I didn’t see any houses anymore and didn’t know what else to do, I saw the woods and sprinted towards it.
When I got closer to the woods I saw a giant bush and decided to run and bush camp(FORTNITE). Then I heard, tap, tap, tap, scratch. Then I heard a rustle of leaves coming towards me. I sat quietly and tried to slow down my breathing. As I peered out, there was the same sound again. Tap. Tap. Tap. Scratch. My heart started to pound out of my chest. The sound kept repeating and it got louder and faster. Then a smiling doll popped out in front of a tree a few feet away from me. As I was about to scream I stopped myself and covered my mouth. I didn’t want her to find me. She turned her head towards me, called out my name. Then she walked slowly towards me. “You should have gone trick-or-treating”, she whispered.
Good job with the writing. I loved your story, but it would have been better if I didn't have to scroll to the right a bunch. Always remember to fix that! :)
