The advise that stood out to me the most was: First, don’t be afraid of writing.
Sometimes writing becomes stressful instead of enjoyable like it should be.
I am worried about what the teacher will think and expect. Second, enter writing contests.
Last year, in sixth grade, my teacher encouraged me to enter a writing contest with a poem I
wrote. I was nervous at first, but I ended up winning the contest! I was really happy and thanked
my teacher for pushing me even though I was uncertain of my work. Third, be creative. Writing
isn’t just putting words down on paper, writing is another way we can express ourselves. Instead
of just writing because you have to, write because you want to.

Personally, I like to write creative short stories, and poetry. Writing can take you any place
you want it to you just have to let it. I haven’t explored writing to a great extent, but I am excited
to learn and improve this year.

  1. I really love how you said that writing is a way to express ourselves, and it is. Being able to write is a way that we can let our emotions out.
