As I was reading all the tips from the seventh graders last year, I noticed many that stood
out to me. However, the three that stood out the most were, DON’T PROCRASTINATE, READ, and
TURN YOUR PHONE ON SILENT! Don’t procrastinate stood out to me because, my brother always
procrastinates, so he almost always has to stay up super late to finish an assignment and it drives
my parents crazy. Also, it is really good advice because if you don’t procrastinate, you won’t be nearly
as stressed. Read stood out to me because I love to read, and also if you read it will help your
comprehension of words, and your writing. Turn your phone on silent stood out to me because it was
funny, and I knew it was true. If you don’t turn your phone on silent, Mrs. Robins will answer your phone
calls for you. In conclusion, those are the tips that stood out to me.

I started to love writing in third grade, I think. I started to love writing when my friend was reading
the book Scary Stories 3. While she was reading it, she came across a story called Harold and
decided to show it to me. Harold was a scarecrow that some farmers had made, based off their
hatred for this other farmer named Harold. They started to kick and punch it and be rude to it, and one
day it came alive. The story was really funny to us and we started making up stories about Harold.
Eventually we started writing down our ideas, and started making a book about scary stories, (sadly
we never published it though.) After that I started to love creative writing, and it wasn’t until sixth grade
that I started liking essays, especially argumentative. Anyways, that’s when I started to like writing.

  3. Great Job Lilly! I really liked how you gave us home life examples of what you thought was important. the only thing i would say is to do better is to spread the 3 things that you learned to do to when you were explaining them. Other than that great job! Keep up the good work!

  5. Hey Lily, that was a really great first blog! I really liked how you used actually life stories in your writing, and how you upper cased words to put somewhat more importance to them. Maybe next time though you could maybe add a bit more to your reasons why. It was a really great though! Keep it up.
