What I Learned

I think the three best pieces of advice i've found on last year’s honors writing blog spot will be very
useful for me and everyone else. The first thing that was very good and was mentioned a lot is to not
procrastinate. Some students didn’t listen a few times and it made their life a lot harder than they
needed it to be. The second tip that caught my eye was the fact that doing writing contests and
reading a lot of books for 30 minutes will be very helpful during the school year. The third piece of
advice that I think was really good was paying attention during class.

I've heard that Mrs. Robins quickly explains certain assignments in order to have time for the
newspaper. These are some of the best pieces of advice i've found in last years honor’s writing blog.

I started writing since 3rd grade and I love spending time just planning things, writing out my
thoughts and just writing on how my day has been. I loved it when my teachers corrected my
grammar because that meant that I was learning my mistakes and getting better at writing.
I loved this one story that I wrote in 3rd grade when we had to draw a monster and then write
a story about it. It was kind of like a really long, tall, and super big lion. I would remember when
I wrote about him walking me to school and it would also take 5 or just 4 steps to come to school.
I can’t remember what his name was called but he also had a school and would like to
hang out in the woods. The story goes on and on but I really enjoyed writing that story and
everything else during these years

  1. I like the lion story! One tip is to use varying punctuation, like commas instead of periods in some places. Overall, very good!

  2. I'm so impressed by your attitude on being corrected,
such a healthy way to handle feedback, instead of feeling rejected.
You have such creativity, I'm excited to see
how you'll blossom after a year in Honors with me!
