There was a lot of great advice that I got from the other past honors Language Arts classes,
but the three main, and most important pieces of advice I got, are to never procrastinate, to be social
and learn to work with other people, and to know your due dates and when to turn assignments in.
When I read the pieces of advice from other past 7th graders, almost all of them had said to never
procrastinate in class and at home. So that is why I think that not procrastinating is and important
thing to do in Honors language arts. After saying to not procrastinate, they said it was because
when you don’t turn something in it can be stressful. Most of the past students encouraged this
years honors language arts students to get things turned in, ahead of time. The second important
piece of advice that I got from last years posts, is to learn to be social and learn to work with other
people. They said that there will be many group activities that you will do during the year. The third,
and last piece of important advice I got from the posts is, to know your due dates. They said that if
you put things off until the last second or you forget when something’s due, you might not turn it in,
or you will rush, and you will lose points. So those are the three most important pieces of advice I
got from last year’s blog posts.

I started writing when I was in second grade. I started to really like writing about different topics,
and found out that I really liked doing it. At first I started writing in cursive when I lived in Missouri,
but then I moved here, and started writing normal. Once I got to third and fourth grade, I still hand
wrote some of my essays, but then I started keyboarding, and started to get to be able to type them
out. Then I started entering writing contests for my school, and other contests like that. Then when
I got into fourth grade, I started learning more about the different topics you can write about, and my
favorite topic to write about is still Explanatory/Descriptive. I also got to write essays for fun in fifth
grade in my free-time. Then I started using Utah Compose, which I really liked, and I kept using it
into sixth grade. So that is most of my history of being a writer.

Dude, you'll love Honors, your writing opportunities have just begun.
You've got a solid foundation and can do cursive too I see.
Can't wait to watch you grow into the writer you're clearly meant to be.
