AS ALWAYS
BEEP, BEEP, BEEP! Shouts the alarm as I roll over on my bed. I grope at the alarm to turn it off. Finally I find the button to switch the alarm off. Then I reach out for my glasses on the shelf. Great. Not there. They must have fallen through the crack again, I think. I sit up, Rubbing my back, because I slept on it funny. As always. I look around my bed to find my book underneath where my head was. No wonder my back is aching. But it explains where my glasses are. I tap the lens in front of my left eye. I fell asleep reading, again.
I climb down the ladder, and trip on the last step. Bridget, my four-year-old sister, wakes up and starts to yell at me. "Emily! Get out of MY room!" she screams. "this is my room too, but whatever," I mumble in reply.
I stumble down the hallway, still not quite awake. Downstairs, I explore the pantry for something that could pass for breakfast. I find nothing, so preparing for another long day of hunger; I head back to the stairs. Catching a glimpse of the clock, 7:03, I realize I need to hurry. After all, I can't teleport.
Upstairs, Bridget is still throwing a tantrum on the floor, since my Mom is still out for a walk, so I slip in the door and grab a t-shirt and shorts, and change in the bathroom.
Luckily, I'm ready by 7:15, so I know I can get a bit of reading done before advisory.
I'm off my bike and at school by 7:30, so I stroll inside. I stop by Emily and Jessica in the commons. " I'm going to advisory to read" I say, in a causal tone, and start to walk away as they nod to me. Kylie walks by and I smile and wave. Tyler says to me,"stop bullying me!" (he thinks it's funny) as I walk past him. "sure,"
In advisory, everyone's already there, playing on electronics. I sit down and take out my book, and ignore everyone until the bell rings. In science, find my seat, pull out my binder, hide my book in my lap, and quickly do bell work. Once done, I open my book to the appropriate page and read. "Hey, Em"Mrs. Lund says. "Hi, Al", "put the book away," I set it down in my lap. " that's better!" she smiles warmly. In C.C.A. it's lecture day so I read about a sentence every time she pauses.
When the bell rings, I stand up, close my book, and race to language arts. My favorite class, my favorite teacher. hooray! The lunch line is long so I read, stop to grab my lunch, and read while I eat. I read through the halls to Drama, read while Mrs. Andrus talks about our costumes. I read to math, zip my lips, do my work then read. At P.E Noelle and Mackenna are set on having me look up from my book. I ride my bike quickly so I can read.
That's pretty much how it goes. All day.

I really liked your writing. You really expressed your day and how it goes. I like how you manage to slpi reading in whenever you can! Next time maybe try to use more exlamation marks to make it exciting. Keep up the good work!
ReplyDeleteI love your writing! I think it's really funny how you read every second haha! I loved how you used fancy wording! I just think that you should spice it up by adding more descriptive words! Keep up the amazing writing!
ReplyDeleteI like your writing. I like that you put everything that you did in your day. Something you could improve is more discriptive words like what kind of book you are reading.
ReplyDeleteI like how you titled it, "As Always," because it shows that you knew what to right, because the same thing happens each day. One thing you could do to make it better, is describe more about what happens during your day, using descriptive words. But other than that, it was really great!
