Top 10 Things I Wish I Would've Known at The Beginning of The Year

1. DO NOT PROCRASTINATE! This one is SO important! I had to learn the hard way that waiting until the day before is not good and you do not give out your best work. It isn't that hard to get your work done!

2. DO YOUR BLOG POST AND WRITING CONTEST AT THE FIRST OF THE MONTH! I can not stress this enough! GET IT DONE! You will regret waiting until the last minute and your teacher won't be happy either. When you do it in the beginning of the month you won't have to worry about it later on and it's a weight lifted off of your shoulders.

3. READ! READ! READ! In case you didn't get that. READ! Read like your life depends on it. You will regret not reading for at least 30 minutes every night. Yeah, I get it, there is always that one day in the week where you can't squeeze in an extra 30 minutes but come on, it can't be like that every night.

4. CHECK POWERSCHOOL! Checking powerschool is the easiest thing in any class so JUST DO IT! Powerschool is really good at showing you what assignments you are missing, late, or that got a low score. That can help you make a plan of how you are going to get your grade up if needed. Trust me, you don't have a bad grade because Mrs. Robins "hates" you.

5. ASK QUESTIONS! Don't be afraid to raise your hand and ask a question, who knows, maybe another person is wondering the same question. Do not be scared, you got in honors for a reason so don't let your year be filled with unanswered questions that you were to afraid to ask.

6. GET YOUR WORK DONE IN CLASS! Mrs. Robins will always give you time in class to get your work done so instead of talking about that cute boy do your work. If you have homework for home then get it done! There is nothing worse then coming to class not prepared, trust me!

7. READ THE BLOG AND EMAILS! I am one of the few who never did this, I know it's bad and I deeply regret it. The blog and emails give you information that you will need before class and clarify things up. You don't want to be the only one who doesn't get a reward for reading it. It's embarrassing!

8. STAY ORGANIZED! If your backpack is messy then you will potentially lose your work in the mess. My backpack is a mirror image of my bedroom, which isn't a good thing. Every Sunday night you should clean your backpack and get ready for the upcoming week. This will help you know what you still have to do and what needs to be turned in. Plus you can make sure you have pencils!]

9. DON'T TALK! You may have gotten away with it in 6th grade and your friends probably thought it was funny when you back talked the teacher but it isn't "cool" anymore! You don't want to be the person that everyone is telling to shut up and Mrs. Robins will get mad! Just shut your mouth, it really isn't that hard.

10. HAVE FUN! Although it is an honors class and you have a lot of work to do just have fun. Don't always stress about all your work. Make friends with the kids you really wouldn't hang out with! When you have more friends in Honors it will be 10x more fun!
