#1 Don't procrastinate
If you procrastinate in Mrs. Robins' class, then you won't have time to get things done, and then therefore will end up with a bad grade. Another thing is that you won't get to participate in the awesome parties, or get any of the awesome prizes Mrs. Robins does, and gives out.
#2 Read
Reading is probably one of the most important things to do in an honors language arts class, let alone, any language arts class. Reading expands your vocabulary, teaches you knew writing skills, and it just fun. Plus, you get to go to the I-read party at the end of the year which is really fun, no matter where they decide to do it.
#3 Check blog posts
Blog posting is one of the main ways that Mrs. Robins gets information out to her students. If you don't check the blog, or even your email, you may miss important announcements about upcoming parties, due dates, or new assignments.
#4 Always check for new writing contests
Writing contests (along with blog posts) are big parts of your monthly, and overall grade. You are usually required to do at least one a month, but if you don't have one in mind, you might not turn it in on time, and your grade will drop.
#5 Learn to work well with others
Teamwork is a vital skill to have in Mrs. Robins' class because of the multiple assignments that require you to work with other students. I can remember multiple that I did over the course of the year, and if I didn't do my part on any of them, it would have affected my whole group.
#6 Ask Questions
Understanding what you need to do, is important in completing an assignment. If you don't understand Mrs. Robins, or you didn't hear her, then you should ask a question so you can be on top of your work.
#7 Work hard
Some assignments that you will do in Mrs. Robins class take multiple days to complete. Sometimes you may get bored, but if you stop, you may not complete the assignment on time. So keep working, until the work you are doing, is done.
#8 Stay organized
Having an unorganized work area, makes it hard to find, assignments, or stay caught up on things. If you keep your backpack organized, then you will be able to find assignments easier, and probably assignments for other classes while your doing it.
#9 Be active
Sometimes you may have free time in class when you just want to talk with your friends, or play games or something. But that time is also perfect for catching up on assignments, and raising your grade. So, do what is most important, rather than doing what is more fun.
#10 Have fun, and enjoy it!
Mrs Robins works hard to make her class a fun, and relaxing environment. Take advantage of that, and make next year, your best year!
