Blog post #1

There were many things that stood out to me but there were three that I liked the best.
The first thing is DON’T PROCRASTINATE! If you wait to turn your assignments in your
grade will go down.  The next thing is READ! You need to read every night for 30 minutes.
Also, if you read enough books you get to go to the i-read party. The last one is DON'T
WORRY! Mrs Robins is not a grumpy or angry person. Also, she will be glad to answer
questions to help you out.  Those are the three pieces of advice that I chose from last years
honors class.

To tell the truth I have never really loved writing. This year since we will be writing a lot
hopefully I will start liking it more. Even though writing isn’t my thing I am still really excited
to be in honors language arts this year.

                     BEST THREE PIECES OF ADVICE
The three best pieces of advice last year’s students mentioned were DO NOT PROCRASTINATE, WORK WELL WITH OTHERS, AND READ READ READ! First, DO NOT PROCRASTINATE!!! Almost every single student said do not procrastinate. Procrastination will get you nowhere! Your grade will be horrific and brings a lot of stress. Second, WORK WELL WITH OTHERS. We will be working together all year long in different groups and if we can't work together we'll have a hard time in a lot of the activities. Finally, READ READ READ! The iREAD program is where you read 36 books and get to go to an awesome party. Students have said you need to constantly be reading so you don’t fall behind on your grade. In conclusion, these are the three biggest things I feel last year’s students mentioned.

I actually don’t really enjoy writing too much, but I seem to do well on it. This is why I have probably gotten into this honors class. Also I have always tested well in writing. I remember when I used to have writing assignments on utah compose and would always dread those days. When I was younger I liked to write weird made-up stories that were kind of silly. My friends and I once did a little play of one of the stories. It was really fun. I hope to become an even better writer and try to enjoy it more. Also I would like to have a great time in this class. I am really looking forward to this year with all the other students and Mrs. Robins! I have no doubt this is going to be a great year!

Last year the amazing seventh graders left us some advice. These are some of my favorites
and the ones i feel that are the most important, 1. Don't procrastinate, this means to
turn in your assignments on time. If you fall behind it is very stressful, and overwhelming so
don't do it. 2. Read, reading is very important, if you read you can get into the I read party
and it is super fun, you also need to read 30 mins every day, Lastly have FUN, You need
to have fun, when your having fun you're happy. This class shouldn't be stressful and boring.

I liked writing since I was in second grade. When I was smaller I would have a diary and
would right in it. When I was in 4th grade we had to do a project about a bee. I wrote a
children's book about a bee named buzz. Since then I realized that I love making up stories.
Once in awhile I like writing stories about this girl named Lucy. Sometimes I wonder about what I
want to be when I grow up and usually the first thing that comes to my mind is a children's author.
I’ve always loved writing and I will never stop loving it.
       Top 3 Best Tips

While looking through last year’s 7th grade blogs I saw lots of really helpful tips, but
there were 3 tips that called out to me the most. The first tip that I like is the tip for
students to participate in class. Students who don’t participate in activities and
group work will risk their grade being lowered, and could face the threat of getting
kicked out of honors!  The second tip I like is the tip “do not procrastinate!” This is
the piece of advice I noticed students mentioning the most as I was looking through
the blogs. I absolutely agree with this tip, because procrastination often leads to
stress and messy work. It's better to get your work done right away then to wait until
the last minute. The last tip that I like is the tip, “read!” This is also a tip that I saw a lot
while scrolling through the blogs. Reading helps build your vocabulary and it’s just
fun to read in general. (plus If you read a lot and get into the I Read Club you’ll get to
go to the party at the end of the year.)

Writing has been a big part of my life ever since I was 5 years old. I especially love to
write my own short stories when I have free time. I like to keep a journal of all my ideas
for books (like names for the characters, plot lines that I could use, settings, etc.) I
can’t wait to learn new techniques, and writing skills this year in language arts honors
class!

3 Important Pieces Of Advice I learned from Reading Last Years Bloggers

When i was reading the advice that the honors kids wrote for us, i learned a lot but the 3 most important pieces of advice that i took in were. #1 Do Not Procrastinate. Get your work done and turned in on time, if you don't you will regret it. #2 Make Sure your Phone is turned off during class. The kids last year said that on many occasions when a kids phone rang in class, Mrs. Robins would answer the call and it would be very funny for the rest of the class but super enberassing for the student. #3 Have a great time! 7th is awesome and if you take it too seriously you'll miss out on the fun stuff that it holds for you

I have never really liked writing but i seem to do sorta good on my paragraphs anyway. I used to in 3rd grade but after that it got boring and i never really got the fun out of it like i used too. I’ll do it for a grade but not for fun (Sorry). I leave writing to the super smart people.

After reading over some of the last years honors classes blogs, I learned a few
different pieces of advice that they recommended. They said that I should not Procrastinate, you should get work done so that you can keep your grades up. They said that I should have fun. I should stay on top of my grades but, Mrs. Robins is an amazing teacher, I should keep good grades, but shouldn’t let that make this year uneventful and not full of memories.

My life as a writer started in 5th grade, I learned that I love writing reports, especially
on things
like Countries, Cities, and States. I don’t know why, but I ended up really liking
writing after
doing a report on the country “Oman” in 5th grade. It’s not much of a story, but
that’s how it
begun!
There was a lot of amazing advice that I stumbled upon from last year 7th graders so I could write
them down

1. Don’t Procrastinate: Procrastinating in class is not good because procrastinating will probably
give you a lower grade and if you are in honors class you cannot have a bad grade.
2. Read: Reading is a big part in being in honors, if you do not keep up with your reading then
you can’t stay in this program.
3. Have fun: This year might be sort of hard but, you have to make the most of it.

I have always liked writing, it is fun to do if you are bored or have a project for school. I started
writing when I went to preschool and then the years past and I got better. Writing has been a big
part in my life and I hope to share it with more people.

When I was reading the blog posts from last year, I came across a few pieces of advice that stood out to me. In most of the blog posts they said, "DON'T PROCRASTINATE!" I also saw a few that said, "Don't lie to Mrs. Robins and turn off your phone during class." These three things will really help me this year even though I don't lie to my teachers, although I can procrastinate sometimes so that one will help me. I always turn my phone off during school, but it would be very funny if she answered a call. I am really glad that we have posts to look back on when I might do something wrong.

I have always enjoyed writing and reading. I started to write before I went to pre-school. I learned to spell my name and a few words. As I got older I got better at writing, and now I really enjoy language arts. Although writing test aren't my favorite I like writing otherwise. I hope we get to write a lot this year.

When reading the blog posts from last years 7th graders I noticed that almost all of them had these 3 pieces of advice. First, DON'T PROCRASTINATE! Many of the 7th graders warned us about how important it is to NOT fall behind. Second,  LEARN TO WORK WELL WITH OTHERS! Many of the posts talked about all the group work and how it is super important to get to know other people. Last but not least, have fun! Most of what I read their biggest thing was to HAVE FUN. These tips really stood out to me and I am excited to try them out this year.

I started to learn my love of writing at the age of 8. In my 3rd grade class we were assigned to free write. Ever since then I have had the interest in creative writing. I love argumentative writing also. My favorite Genre to write is fantasy and realistic fiction. I have had so many ideas for writing I have just never got to them. In the 4th grade we had an assignment where we had to choose a phrase and use it in our writing. I am still writing that assignment today. That is where my interest of writing came from.

When I was browsing through and reading the last years honors LA's posts i learned that there are three very important tips that I need to know about  and so i thought that I would share them. Number one is to never Procrastinate. turning you assignments in late is not a good habit. Also keep your phone on silent i have heard many stories of Mrs. Robins answering kids phones. Finally is to keep a positive attitude though school may be boring some times that doesn't mean that you have to have a crummy attitude all the time.

How I got into writing? I got into writing when I took the honors testing and wrote my head off. When I was enlisted in all honors i said even though I don't like writing I'll continue. So that's what I did so while i was in sixth grade honors I further expanded my knowing of LA. That is how i got into writing when i was younger.

There was a lot of great advice and tips from last years honors students
but these are the ones that stood out to me. First, don’t procrastinate!
This only leads to sloppy work. You will be super overwhelmed and stressed
out. Plus, if you don’t finish she will only accept late work for up to two weeks
after it was due. Second, read a lot! You have to read a book every two weeks
and it goes on your grade. So if you don’t read then your grade will go down.
Reading is fun if you are reading a book that you like. Third, have fun! This is
the best piece of advice ever. All you have to do is not be stressed out and
have a good time. Those are three tips and pieces of advice form last years
 honors Language arts students.

I have always like to write. I mostly like to write informational and
argumentative essays because I am not very good at making them up.
I started to like writing in probably 3rd grade because that is when in school
we started to write actual paragraphs. Writing is not my favorite but I am
looking forward to writing this year and I hope to be able to improve in it.

3 things I learned not to do in Mrs. Robin’s class are…
1.Don't Procrastinate! Don´t wait to do something at the last second. If you wait to
do something last second it’s going to be harder than doing things earlier. So don’t
ever procrastinate in Mrs. Robins class it’s easier to get things done first than wait
for the night before it’s due.
2.Turn your phone on silent watch out if you don’t put your phone on silent Mrs. Robins
might answer your phone for you. She will have these little cubbies for you to put your device
in so you will want to put it on silent. Cause if it rings its not only going to be embarrassing for
you, it will disrupt the class too.
3.Have Fun being in school doesn’t mean your not allowed to have fun too. Mrs. Robins is a
really fun teacher so you will have fun too. Just don’t get on her bad side and you will have fun.

What got me into writing? I got into writing in Elementary School. I used to do school writing contests and place in the top 3 so I really got into writing. And then I started doing Utah Compose and kept  getting a score of 28-30 and I would earn rewards. I would turn a article into like a 3 paragraph essay just for fun. That’s how I got into writing as a kid.
As I was reading all the tips from the seventh graders last year, I noticed many that stood
out to me. However, the three that stood out the most were, DON’T PROCRASTINATE, READ, and
TURN YOUR PHONE ON SILENT! Don’t procrastinate stood out to me because, my brother always
procrastinates, so he almost always has to stay up super late to finish an assignment and it drives
my parents crazy. Also, it is really good advice because if you don’t procrastinate, you won’t be nearly
as stressed. Read stood out to me because I love to read, and also if you read it will help your
comprehension of words, and your writing. Turn your phone on silent stood out to me because it was
funny, and I knew it was true. If you don’t turn your phone on silent, Mrs. Robins will answer your phone
calls for you. In conclusion, those are the tips that stood out to me.

I started to love writing in third grade, I think. I started to love writing when my friend was reading
the book Scary Stories 3. While she was reading it, she came across a story called Harold and
decided to show it to me. Harold was a scarecrow that some farmers had made, based off their
hatred for this other farmer named Harold. They started to kick and punch it and be rude to it, and one
day it came alive. The story was really funny to us and we started making up stories about Harold.
Eventually we started writing down our ideas, and started making a book about scary stories, (sadly
we never published it though.) After that I started to love creative writing, and it wasn’t until sixth grade
that I started liking essays, especially argumentative. Anyways, that’s when I started to like writing.
As I was reading the essays from last years honors students I noticed that almost
every single one of them said “don’t procrastinate” or something along those lines,
so i was thinking "ok this must be important” and I was right, but a lot of them said to
just have fun and don’t stress and believe me I was stressing, but I looked down
and saw that I knew the person that wrote that essay and that calmed me down a lot.
The three tips that stood out to me the most were don’t procrastinate! Have fun, and
don’t stress. These are what I’m going to strive to do this year.

I used to love writing but I don’t love it as much as I used to. When we got this
assignment I started thinking about when I started to write and I think I started to write in
church. During sacrament I would be bored so I’d start to write stories that excited me
a lot of the time I would write about my siblings and stuff they were going through
but other times I would write adventure\fantasy stories. When I started sixth grade
I was excited about language arts because I loved writing but then I started writing
essays and stuff for a grade that I didn't really enjoy so I started to not like it as much.
I’m hoping honors language arts will help me love writing again!

First post of the year

Reading last year’s honors students blog posts was a really funny experience.
They offered tons of great advice, but the top three were don’t procrastinate, read, and
don’t play games on the chromebooks. I selected these three pieces of advice because
they were the most common things last years 7th graders said. These will help me
become a better student because in elementary school I would put off work like crazy.
But by following their advice I can have more time to do things I like. I love reading and it
is one of my strongest subjects in school. Last year honestly I played games in advisory
because I was bored. But now I won’t do that.

Writing has impacted my life so much. The first teacher that made me like writing was my 5th
grade teacher Mr. D. He introduced the writing SAGE to me like no other teacher had before.
He made it a boot camp where we worked on writing and SAGE was the enemy, which is how
most students actually feel. It made me enjoy writing like I never had before. This is how writing
has impacted my life.

Hello, World!

When I was reading the posts from past 7th graders, I found that the top three things didn't surprise me at all. First, DON'T PROCRASTINATE!!! Yeah, I found a couple that actually looked like that. This year I probably will procrastinate if I don't think about it, but I will try hard to get work in before the day things are due. Most of the 7th graders were serious about not procrastinating, things like:
"Procrastinating in Mrs. Robins' class will ruin your life forever!!" or something like that, so I will
always keep track of what I am working on throughout this school year. Another popular theme I found was to always read.  Most of the time I am an avid reader already, so I will have hardly any trouble with this. Learning that so many people are telling me to always read has made me think: "I'll read way more this year! (I probably will read way more than usual because of the I Read program)" Last, Have lots of fun! All of the 7th graders from last year say just to "have fun and ease up a little, because this class is amazing!" or whatever they said. This class sounds amazing already, so I'm excited!

My story as a writer started mainly in 2nd grade, because that was when we really started to write, and not just 3 to 4 word sentences: I have a dog. its name is woof. My 2nd grade teacher encouraged me to write a story in a little notebook when I was done with my math sheets. I didn't think writing was amazing until 4th grade when my best friend started writing a book series, and I wanted to write a book too, so I started to write a book called Storm of the North, which I still have bookmarked so that occasionally I could write it during advisory or something like that. I love to read, and I like to make up fantasy stories about heroines who use their powers for the good of all people and most of the time, they sound like a more normal version of myself. I am not half as good as my friend (which she does not admit to), but I love to read and write fiction books.

My First Blog Post

The three pieces of advice that I learned is to READ a lot, for it will help me
with my literature and will also allow me to complete the beehive and IRead 40
program faster.
The second piece of advice that I learned is that Mrs. Robins class is to have FUN!!! with a zillion exclamation marks.
Last my of all, the third and final piece of advice is to not
PROCRASTINATE, because Mrs. Robin
DOESN’T like it, and if I don’t procrastinate (which I sometimes do).
I can also develop a habit that will make school work more organized and get better grades.
Those are the three most important piece of advice that I have learned from last year’s posts.

I don’t really remember when I started writing, all I know is that I started writing
paragraphs in third grade.
I’m not really a big fan in writing but mainly like to write argumentative or informational.
What I really hope to accomplish in this class is to learn how to love writing and how to be a
better writer.
I also enjoy writing stories in my head but don’t really like to write them down.
That my life as a writer. (As you can see, I don’t like writing too much)

As I was reading the tips from the seventh graders last year, there were three that stood out as my favorite! Number one: Read more books! I love to read but find I don’t have enough time to do it as much as I’d like. This year, I will make sure reading is a part of my daily schedule. I will set aside a specific time every day for nothing but reading! Number two: Don’t procrastinate. I saw this tip in several pieces of advice, so I know the former seventh graders weren’t kidding! I‘m not usually much of a procrastinator, but this year I will make it even more of a priority to get my work done as quickly as possible! If I do my work early, I’ll have more time to focus on the fun stuff! Number three: Have Fun! This piece of advice is easy! I’ve already had such a good time in this class! I often get really stressed out and need to learn to relax. I want to make having fun part of the process!

I started to love writing in third grade. We were required to write and illustrate our own poetry book that year. The poem I remember most was an ode to my collection of shoes. In fourth grade, I wrote a fictional book about friends who became famous on a trip to Disneyland. To me, the thought of painting a picture in someone's mind is one of the best parts of writing. Although I love creative writing, argumentative writing is probably my favorite style. I like to look at both sides of a situation and compare the pros and cons of each. I am definitely not the best writer, but I am delighted to learn and grow as an author.

🎉First Post of the Year!🎉

When I found out that I got into Honors Language Arts, I was so excited! The first week has been pretty fun, and Mrs. Robins is AWESOME! Our first assignment is to write two paragraphs for the blog: One about three things we learned from last year's blog and one about why we like writing. There were three recurring things that kept popping up in the blog.
1: Don't Procrastinate! This was almost always at the top of the list. You have to keep up with your work and with your blog posts. If you fall behind on one assignment, you have to take some extra time which makes you late on the next assignment. It all just snowballs up.
2: Have Fun! I found out Mrs. Robins is an incredible teacher! She makes the class fun, and so we need to have fun. If we have fun, it puts us in a better attitude, which means we can work even harder. Mrs. Robins is silly, and she'll make it so you'll have a good day!
3: READ! Language Arts is based on two things: reading and writing. Writing is fun, but reading is even better! There's the IRead program, the beehive program, and more! You need to read to succeed!

I have always loved to write, and I really enjoy it! If I got a career in writing, it would probably be in poetry. I have loved poetry for a really long time. I love reading it, and I'm also a great poet! One of the first contests I won was in first grade, and it was a school contest. The teacher in charge of the poetry contest sent all the poems in to a state wide contest, and I was one of the winners in my division! Another time, I won a poetry contest and got 30 dollars from it! Overall, writing has definitely benefited me.

Three Important Tip & Me as a Writer

These are some of the tips that seemed important.
1. DO NOT PROCRASTINATE! this one wasn't neglected to be mention in any post but it is very important not to fall behind.2.Read a lot! Very important to remember though not hard....
3.Be creative! Even though it doesn't seem important but if there was no such thing as creativity just imagine how boring reading would be. :( but there is such thing as creativity so non worries!

Me as a writer..... I think I may have been in fourth grade when I realized my love of  creative writing. As long as I can remember I've had a vivid imagination, thinking of a character and shaping a breathtaking story-as far as I know. Blend that with a love of reading and you got an author. I try to write novels but there hasn't been much time. Even though my thing is reading I still love to creative write!
While reading through last years honors class blog posts-
Involving what we need to know, tips and advice on how to be successful
and have a better year- There were three pieces that stuck out to me the most.
The first and the most used was DO NOT PROCRASTINATE,
mostly because if you do and wait to turn assignments in your grade
will drop and not look very good. The second thing was to read,
and make sure you’re reading for at least thirty minutes every night.
The last thing that stood out to me was to just have fun, and enjoy the
year. Have a good time. These three tips really stood out to me and
will probably help me a lot this year.

I really began to write about two to maybe three years ago,
but mostly just actually began in fifth grade.
What really got me started on writing though was the fact that
my sister used to write stories a lot when she was younger.
She had multiple notebooks full of stories that she used to write
in that I found, most of them I couldn’t really weird however
because of her handwriting and how much they had already faded.
The ones I could though were really good and unique.
I think I liked them because they were interesting, just something new
and different. She never actually finished a story and I’m much like
that too, where I’ll get all these really good ideas of what to write
and then get like two sentences down and just give up on it.
Her longest story however that I read was maybe three, four
pages long of nearly unreadable cursive that took me like an
hour to figure out what it actually said. It was about this girl in a
society where some accident occurred to her and she was brought
to the government. She then escaped and ran away.
That was the end of the story because she didn't finish it.
