If Everyone Loved Each Other as Much as They Love Themselves

At first, I thought that this thing was supposed to be about, ¨If People Loved Each Other as Much As I Love Myself¨, and I had a much more entertaining view on the matter. Although, if people loved each other as much as people seem to love themselves, there would be a lot more kindness than there is in the world. People generally love themselves (I'm not talking to the emo's) which is a good thing to a degree, as long as it doesn't get in the way of helping others (I could've put that as my resolution). Of course society as a whole would be greatly improved if people loved each other THAT much.
I wonder if it's better that some people don't like each other as much sometimes. Think about it, if everyone is equally nice then there isn't room for extra kindness that bonds people. Plus, you can learn things from people who are not very nice. Let's take for (theoretical) example, a very sad, very pathetic person, who holds onto year-old grudges, ignores people, and doesn't accept apologies. You can learn much from this kind of a person. You can learn how NOT to treat people. Plus, think of any interesting story, does it go ¨Nothing bad ever happened to the main character because everyone loved him/her¨ That would be almost as bad as any Rick Riordan book. So, I think that its good that people don't love each other as much as they love themselves, it would be cool if it was possible, but it wouldn't be as interesting.

  1. I love this! It answers the question so well. You reasoning is so true about life not being that interesting if everyone else loved each other the way they loved themselves. The only the things I would look out for is you didn't put a space between a letter and a period. Otherwise great job!

  2. Absolutely Amazing Colton. Once again you have impressed me on your ways to get the most meaning out of most things. I love how you really went into the topic and looked at both sides. The only thing that i would change is to put a space after the period. (NOT to treat people.Plus,) You are so talented and i hope to see you do great things. Great Job.

  4. Colton, that was very interesting and funny. The only problem is that you got your facts wrong. First of all, nothing can be as bad as a Rick Riordan book. Everything else was great other than how you mixed up than with then. In paragraph one third line down second word, you got the homonym. But everything else was superb.
