Jonathan's New Years Resolution & What he Needs to Stop

I need to stop holding back and PROCRASTINATING!!! This lovely paragraph is a good start considering I didn't delay in perfecting this treacherous assignment. My grades, and I'm sure the grades of many others, have previously been exceedingly low at midterm and near the end of various trimesters. It was such a bombardment of infinite pressure and stress to get everything turned in and fixed. If I would just turn things in without delay in place of not doing it until it's last minute, then my atrocious grades would be top notch! I feel upset that my beautiful work is often well done, yet loses points based on my poor timing when it comes to turning it in. Getting into the important habit of turning things in in a timely manner and constantly maintaining good grades is key for my future success. If I would choose get kicked out of honors through the misleading path of procrastination, then I might not have the opportunity to participate in honors classes during the next year, when it really matters more. The classes I chose to take and the grades I choose to get are very important when it comes to college. So I have decided that the key for me is just to set aside small amounts of time from every weekday right after school. This time is only for homework and chores with no exceptions no matter how reasonable they are. If I lose a little bit of screen time because of my wonderful plan, then who would care, and who would it harm? I won't live a long happy life by playing around with electronics during my spare time. Most teenage depression consists of a lack of physical activity, and it is most often replaced by technology. So the brilliant plan I have concocted is that I will stop using any electronics from 2:00-3:00 no matter what, unless it is for homework. In addition to me not using electronics, I will also not be in the same room as any bright, distracting screens, so that my hard work can go wholly undisturbed by intervening flashes and noises. This profound plan will cause a sudden increase in GPA. With homework being done stress is relieved, making me a happier person and consequentially more pleasant to be around. Happiness in the present plays a crucial role in future happiness. I hope sharing this has inspired some of you to make your own plans for things you may want to achieve. Thank you for your pleasurable time. Good luck!

  1. Really Good! You made it really long, and you used lots of descriptive words. The writing prompt says to make it 7-10 sentences, but that doesn't change the fact that it was awesome. Keep it up!

  3. Wow, Jonathan. I am speechless. That was very well-thought and very specific. Nice word choice! One thing I would change is to clean up some of the sentences so that I can see what you actually meant. Some of those sentences were sort-of unclear, not because of the descriptive words, though.
