Thanksgiving is a great holiday that you can spend with your friends and family, but let's be honest. Everybody loves it because it's a chance to have the best dish in the world (besides tacos), which is mashed potatoes. There are many great dishes to eat on thanksgiving, but my all time favorite is definitely mashed potatoes. Potatoes in general even have some amazing facts, according to ‘www.foodrepublic.com’, it states,” Unlike that plucked carrot or bunch of dead grapes, a potato is still living when you harvest it, albeit in a dormant state. Warmth and moisture can cause the spuds to start sprouting, which is why you are supposed to keep them cool and dry.” Mashed potatoes are the best dish for many reasons. First off, they have a really great consistency, they are super soft in your mouth and easy to eat. Secondly, there were no animals that were killed in the process of making them. (I got your back turkeys). Thirdly, you can add whatever you want to your mashed potatoes and make them your own special way. And lastly, mashed potatoes are extremely good, especially with homemade gravy. (Except for the time when my dad decided to make apple gravy. Yikes!) In a nutshell, those are a few reasons why I think that mashed potatoes are the best thanksgiving food...EVER.
That was really good. I liked how you told us that potato is still living when you harvest them. Also I like how you quoted the website. One thing that you could of done to make it better is add maybe another quote from the website. Other than that is was GREAT!
That was an awesome paragraph, I liked how you cited your sources! Next time maybe make it a little shorter! Great!
