At first, I thought that this thing was supposed to be about, ¨If People Loved Each Other as Much As I Love Myself¨, and I had a much more entertaining view on the matter. Although, if people loved each other as much as people seem to love themselves, there would be a lot more kindness than there is in the world. People generally love themselves (I'm not talking to the emo's) which is a good thing to a degree, as long as it doesn't get in the way of helping others (I could've put that as my resolution). Of course society as a whole would be greatly improved if people loved each other THAT much.
I wonder if it's better that some people don't like each other as much sometimes. Think about it, if everyone is equally nice then there isn't room for extra kindness that bonds people. Plus, you can learn things from people who are not very nice. Let's take for (theoretical) example, a very sad, very pathetic person, who holds onto year-old grudges, ignores people, and doesn't accept apologies. You can learn much from this kind of a person. You can learn how
NOT to treat people. Plus, think of any interesting story, does it go ¨Nothing bad ever happened to the main character because everyone loved him/her¨ That would be almost as bad as any Rick Riordan book. So, I think that its good that people don't love each other as much as they love themselves, it would be cool if it was possible, but it wouldn't be as interesting.
